The Piece comes across like a playground of extremes and micro mysticism. The opening distance shot welcomes us coldly and deprived of emotions showing what could be any pool on any roof in any suburb. We approach one section of the pool jerkily; one part of the scene is warmed up by evening light, the rest persists in grey. The soundscape is at times dominated by locusts and dogs or by helicopters and sirens. And right here a thus far invisible individual, dressed in black, leaves the pool dripping wet. Distinctly belonging to the individual and yet autonomous are his or her shadows. One shadow even with its own shadow. We are observing the scientifically questionable spectacle until the end.
