CONTROL REMOTE

HD, single-channel-video, color, sound, 07:10 min

2018

Inspired by Martha Rosler's "Semiotics of the Kitchen" (1975), the work REMOTE CONTROL was created. The artist takes on the role of a woman who is confronted in her kitchen with media role models and the delusions of body and diet. By a collage-like montage, she is gradually pushed into the background and superimposed. She finally gets her autonomy back, because a TV set, despite all its functions, has only two buttons: on and off.
